Hello folks,

Excel is different regarding preview.
You need to save the workbook explicitly with a "preview" image to have it
shown in the dialog.

1) open the workbook/sheet
2) click the 'Office' button, click 'Prepare' and then click 'Properties'
(Excel displays a set of properties just above the worksheet)
3) click the down-arrow next to 'Document Properties' and choose 'Advanced
Properties' (Excel displays the Properties dialog box)
Make sure the 'Summary' tab is selected.
4) select the 'Save Thumbnails for All Excel Documents' check box at the bottom
of the dialog box.
5) click on 'OK' to close the 'Properties' dialog box.
6) save the workbook.

The preview image should now be shown in 'Open' dialog.

Unless you can prove that Excel 2007 on Windows behaves differently
(screenshots, videos) I suggest to close this one as 'invalid'.
IMHO there is nothing to "fix" here
