oh, I was unsure about 'dd' in the last dude's comment
wasn't sure if that was an acro or something

but if that just copies files, then I most likely wouldn't want it as it would
just copy 0KB in about 140000 files of various programs, installers, game-rips,
images, etc. etc.
(including my last latest code for my program (that's why I said IMPORTANT))

roughly 300GB is now 0KB in blank files
I've always hated ChkDsk, and couldn't stop it from taking 4 days to forcefully
delete my 500GB HDD

I'm so glad I switched to linux ^_^
that's one nightmare I'll never have to worry about again.

I just hope I can get my data back
