What are you talking about? I said when I opened this that I can't reproduce it
in Windows 7 and now after re-testing it with Windows 8 there's still nothing
of the sort happening there. There's no doubt wine is doing something
differently.

http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/English_patches has all of the old patches. If
anyone has an unpatched version of the game can you check for this bug and
report here before you apply it, since unlike all the other patches this one
permanently modifies the game data? That way we can confirm it's the patch
that's causing this.
