If this is the same patch as is included in the compholio patchset (which it
appears to be by visual inspection), it breaks steam startup. Sometimes it
simply doesn't start, sometimes it does this forever,

timed out in thread 0058, blocked by 0043, retrying (60 sec)

with one of these repeated every minute.
