Not a blocker.

How often is "sometimes"? I compared folders 5 times, different folders each
time, and it never crashed. Also, what are the "current additional plugins" you
have installed? The PortableApps.com page for this WinMerge Portable does not
mention any additional plugins. Please give exact steps to reproduce.

I note that you are using a patched version of Wine. Please retest in plain
Wine; wine-rt is not supported here.
