I'm not sure what's the issue you mention. For me it now looks the same as on
Windows, as far as I can see.

Notice that the light is fixed in the scene somewhere behind and to the right
of the observer. If you rotate the chessboard you can see the lighting updating
accordingly. That means, for example, that the shadows are always directed
towards the top-left corner of the screen while moving over the chessboard.
