Details of the program error.

I'm completely new to using wine. After I updated my Mac to OS X, and after
steam's update, it hasn't worked properly. So I tried using Wine with an
accompanying youtube video. I now have a windows 7 version of steam, but I
cannot do much. I can't even search for games with out the message telling me I
have a "program error" coming up.

If you could help me it'd be great.
If you could also provide me with tips in order to download Dota 2 so it'll
work smoothly with no program issues, that'd also mean a lot :)
