This is all very strange. See this:

WineHQ suggests that 3DMark03 does not work without -systeminfo at least since
1.7.46. Anyway, I do not think it can have any relation to this IVB patch.

I've tested 3DMark03 with -nosysteminfo, it works without any problem for me
with this patch (without it as well).
Are you testing with 3DMark -nosysteminfo? Are you testing the latest 1.8-rc2
version and presence of this patch is the only difference between it works and
don't work? Without -nosysteminfo 3DMark03 does not work in 1.8-rc2 without
this patch either.
