You should not restrict vertex model to 2 in your patch.
It is performed by 
winetrick vsm=2 and psm=2
or just in registry, see dlls/wined3d/wined3d_main.c:305

This method works.
Users must use this trick for this game and not for others.
Anyway thanks for pointing to the problem.
