0.972SSE2 has some performance benefits and 0.972D has some debugging options.
There are no differences between versions otherwise.
To reproduce, load Regen and click on System -> Redefine keys, then click
"Define" on the right side for a controller. The application will hang and
cannot be closed without force quitting Wine.
As for CPU usage, a single core is maxed out after the hang.
