log using clean 1.7.34 with clean game install, 32bit prefix

Only 1.7.34 is available in the repos :( So I tested with that.
Started a new game, went through the opening sequence, moved around a little,
and exited cleanly. The bug is still present.

I guess I could git a newer version and compile it myself, if you think it'll
make a difference?
