The problem only occurs with libgnutls28. If you use libgnutls26 instead, the
login still works without issues. Seems like an upstream bug in gnutls. I try
to track this down a bit more.

Please note that most distro packages have an explicit dependency on a specific
version, so the only way to switch that is during compile time.
