--- Comment #19 from Anastasius Focht <focht at gmx.net> ---
Hello folks,

--- quote ---
Moreover, most of affected applications should start work until they actually
attempt to create a GIF encoded stream or file, but that's a separate problem.

this is now fixed by commit
https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/f78a6dd15c85f374a841427d7edce7427e5bbb87

Thanks Dmitry

I'm refining the summary to reflect that.

Tested with:

* Magnus 2011 (initial bug)
  http://www.vocab.cz/download/magnus2011_9.5.6.rar
  -> make sure you install MDAC 2.7+ and JET 4.0! ('winetricks -q mdac28 jet40)
  -> runs now

* DiscRipper (comment #12)
  https://nuclear.coffee/discripper/DiscRipperInstaller.exe
  -> runs now

* PL/SQL Developer (comment #13, comment #14)
  http://download.allroundautomations.com/plsqldev1005.exe
  -> installs now (and runs)

* MyINfo 6.x (comment #15)
  http://www.milenix.com/download/MyInfoProTrial.exe
  -> runs now

Probably even more work now.

Create new tickets if you still find one of the apps listed here not working on
real GIF encoder support in windowscodecs.

Regards
