Tested this on current git (wine-1.7.37-260-g4c1791f)

Winetricks prerequisites : 
- dxdiagn (https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34686)

I am able to switch between resolutions without problems either if I use a
virtual desktop or not. I can't switch to all the possible 4:3 and 16:9
resolutions between 1400*1050 and 1920*1080 however if I use a virtual desktop.
This could be a limitation of the wine VD. My max resolution is 1920*1080, so
this is not a problem for me.
