Definitely not the problem: I installed the libraries and it's still there.

I think that was from my home directory. Attached is the terminal output
launching from ~/.wine/drive_c/FMPRO5 with "wine FileMaker\ Pro.exe". As you
can see, the error is gone. But the problem remains. Watching the output while
testing, I can see that nothing is output while I enter the pop-up list, change
window, change back, and start typing (all between the second-last and the last
line of the output).

If you can tell me which channels might be of interest, I could do a debug
trace.
