Hello Eric,

the recommended way to install .NET Frameworks is using 'winetricks' script.
It takes care of many things (works around known issues) and also uninstalls
Wine-Mono properly if present.

If you don't use 'winetricks' but run the installer directly you're doing that
at own risk (= keep the bits and pieces).

What you call second regression is known for years -> bug 25120

All those other "regressions" you listed were already fixed a long time ago.
