I noticed this problem When I installed Dove tail games fishing (64 bit wine
1.7.51) I thought it might be a 64 bit issue. Today I installed Fable III and
got the same error. I used a 32 bit wine prefix via wine 1.7.52. It seems that
newer versions of wine have this problem. It sounds like steams recent update
breaks something in wine. I used win7 mode for the fishing game. I didn't
change the win mode from its default setting for the Fable III install. I am
assuming its still win Vista. That suggests the problem is not just wine win
mode 7 but also vista.
