Also, does this game even use D3D at all? I'm pretty sure this is an OpenGL
game.

Notice that __GL_ExtensionStringVersion only applies to the Nvidia binary
drivers. For Mesa you need something like MESA_EXTENSION_MAX_YEAR=2004 or
similar.
