Somewhere along the line (perhaps with Path of Exile 2.0), Grinding Gear Games
changed the way the game renders text, allowing them to use kerning correctly
but also (as a happy side-effect) fixing text-rendering in Wine.

So this bug may be difficult-or-impossible to reproduce now.
