Hmmm weird. Only thing I can recommend is try a clean prefix, if you haven't
already, and install version 1.041 from scratch and see if that makes any
difference. 

I believe the game's main installer has been updated to version 1.041 already.

Also, did you install the game using GOG Galaxy or using an offline installer?
