I just tested here by removing the fluendo-mp3:i386 package and I can see the
exact same problem. IMO the issue is invalid because it is a missing library
problem, the game can't cope with the library not being available.

Maybe wine 1.8.3 is compiled without gstreamer support and the code inside the
game takes a different path earlier and does not crash.
