uh, just send the patch, before seeing your reply
Since the existing code already strips double path delimiters, but fails to
handle this corner case, I felt it was a simple code bug in wine which doesn't
need a test case.

oh well, I'll see how it goes. If it gets rejected I'll add a test case and
resend.
