UPDATE:

The GW2 launcher downloaded a bunch of data today. After the download was
finished and I tried the game, the issue is gone. Now it runs very smooth, even
on higher graphics. There are tiny lags very rarely, but they are barely
noticeable.

I guess this can be closed then.
