That's a legit explanation. I just thought about reporting is as a cosmetic
"bug" as wine as far as I know does not intend to do something in the best way,
but the most windows-ish way. However now I clearly see the advantage of
implementing it as is.

A small follow-up as you mentioned, that even the MacDriver supports non-themed
windows: wouldn't make it sense, if the theming option in winecfg affects the
MacDriver the same as it affects the X11-driver? like setting both registry
keys with one option?

I will mark this as resolved.
