That seems likely, as disabling mf.dll does allow me to install (repair) the
game with no errors. I'm now back to another prior issue of it just spinning in
a sea of "fixme:thread:NtSetInformationThread info class 7 not supported yet"
with no crash, no activity, and the exe processflicking between running and
Zombie status with N/A memory usage.

Guess I'll just let it sit overnight and home it crashes so I have something to
work with.
