I can confirm this also. Wine 1.9.0.

I installed Uplay though winetricks in a new win32 prefix, and it actually ran
the first time. But then I clicked on "change avatar" and the whole thing
crashed. Every subsequent attempt to load the prefix has since been throwing
the same error.

Haven't looked at Uplay in a long time. Only took a look due to the current
Humble Bundle which is all Uplay games.
