I really believe this is fixed in Wine's side. I cannot reproduce the exact
problem from comment 13 because I don't have Wine 1.0.x but I do see a
graphical problem as the screenshot from my comment 21 in 1.2.3. So IMO this is
really fixed.

According to some source code shared by the author the best component guess is
gdi32.
