Not major, problems with winemenubuilder should not affect any other
applications running in Wine. Your input problems with mIRC are most likely a
different issue.

When exactly do you experience the crash? If it happens only during the prefix
update / creation, it could be a well-known race-condition (see
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38162 ).

Otherwise, please describe more exactly under which circumstances the issue
occurs. Please also test if you can experience the same issue with the
development version of Wine.
