That's not good. You must launch the exe from its directory.

similar problems

There are several problems.

At first, there is a d3drm bug. This bug prevent to enter the menu. But even
with a native d3drm the game does not load.

At first, I think this bug should take care of the bug with native d3drm. This
second bug is in ddraw

The pick method is a stub. Looks like it is the culprit.
