I don't see any problem even with SimSun.ttc installed (from [1]). Installing
the font actually makes the Chinese characters work (with zh_CN.UTF-8). I'm
running wine-1.9.24 on Arch Linux.

Does this problem still exist for you? Can you provide any additional
information?

If not, this bug should be closed.
