>From what I understand libcef is part of the Chromium Embedded Framework and,
correct me if I am wrong, but recent updates to the CEF have rendered it
incompatible with Windows XP and Vista. 

Only reason I am saying this is because GOG Galaxy also uses the CEF and it
dropped support for Windows XP and Vista precisely for the reason I mentioned
above.

I suggest trying to run the installer in Windows 7 mode with winetricks -q
corefonts intalled...
