I havn't got a Debian stretch binary of Wine 3.0-rc3 available, but I've
attached a d2d,dwrite trace (above) using the latest Debian stretch wine-devel.

The problem has been in all versions of wine, wine-stable, wine-devel and
wine-staging and it affects any windows vst that happens to use d2d1.dll
