commit 35e651caf130e1370c3fa7866ce0e1d29aa2aacd has a few strange symbols in
some of the comments on the code such as ⊇ , which my browser didn't liked to
render properly, which is why the patch failed to apply in the end. Copy and
paste error. 

it would be great to get those three commits officially cherry picked for the
stable branch.
