Yes it seems that you need winetricks -q vcrun2008 ie8. 

Before starting the installer. 

Without ie8 you don't see a installer gui. And without vcrun2008 you can't
finnish the updater. 

Setting vcrun2008 later and trying to update the game files via pather doesn't
seem to help. So it really needs to be set before running the installer.

wine 2.0rc3. I already did once this test and all other test have failed so far
what I have done. 

The bug title should match the game.
