Did you check that msvcr71 is really set to native? I notices that winetricks
vcrun2003 only installs the dlls, but doesn`t set them to native anymore (was
there a change in winetricks?).

Could you try
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=msvcr71=n wine SR2005_Demo.exe 

As I said, with  that command it starts just fine here...
