and it also works on wine for me when setting the windows version to win98.
the privileged instructions get correctly emulated.
see __wine_emulate_instruction in dlls/krnl386.exe16/instr.c

it would argue there is nothing to fix here. Wine matches the windows
behaviour.

i made a patch while back that limits the fps to 30.
