For those who want to try a possible workaround:
Try to stream the audio via pulseaudio:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio/Examples#PulseAudio_over_network

You have to install "pulseaudio" on both the client and the server.
Then you can use the Client as the pulseaudio-Server and the Host connects to
it.

For Windows Clients:
It is possible to install "pulseaudio" inside Cygwin http://cygwin.com/.
Cygwin lets you run specific linux applications under windows.

Sadly my network is too slow, so there was choppy sound when i used steam
streaming at the same time (even though it ran smootly when running alone).

You should maybe have a direct network connection with 100 mbit/sec or at least
more than 10 mbit/sec.
