I remember Assassin's Creed Revelations had a similar issue too in recent wine
versions. The bloom was so bright in the snow storm at the beginning of the
game, that the screen was all white except the player character and very close
objects, appearing link sun blind silhouettes. It was triggered by the
eagle-view feature of the game.

I don't have access to that game right now, I can't provide any logs or screen
shots.
