I've updated winetricks to use winxp:
https://github.com/Winetricks/winetricks/commit/96c0b0366e56f7b01558f97365521bb71a8b6a82

With that (and old wine), the bug was still present. With 2.x, it's gone. I
reverse bisected, the gdi32 issue was fixed by:
