Interesting, I suppose it may be related to what the app thinks wine's
limitation to be? Perhaps when the app was compiled (or rather, a library it
depends on, most likely) wine had a bug and it worked around that bug, but now
that the bug is probably fixed, it crashes...?

It might not be possible to fix properly (since it's the app's fault sort of),
but perhaps some API it relies on can be made more "robust" just for apps
reliant on old versions of wine, not sure if it's possible or what even causes
the crash in the first place.
