Now that all patents have expired it should no longer be a problem to implement
it directly in Wine. I'm still a bit surprised that it can no longer be
installed. What exactly is the package conflict you get, or have the packages
been removed from your repositories? Which distribution do you use?

Yes, this is a Wine Staging specific feature.
