Yes, I did mean wine 2.18, apologies.

I have seen similar crash behaviour with freetype2 2.8, which is why  I asked
the question.

Have you tried installing in a new wineprefix using wine-staging? 2.17 or
better should work without crashing. No overrides/dlls needed, just winetricks
corefonts. It might be worth checking that you have the latest Blizzard App
installer too.
