actually, you may be right. I don't know anymore. The bug is seem to be caused
by custom Wine theme styles (in winecfg).

Right after I wrote the previous message, I tried a custom Wine theme.

With default (No Theme) theme there is no such issue with GUI texts. With a
custom theme (in my case VistaPerfection X4) the GUI is broken.

The GUI got broken immediately after theme change, even with otherwise a clean
prefix. Once I restored default (No Theme) theme, GUI was working again.

Due to this, I reopen the issue. Sorry for confusion.
