It looks like this bug is fixed in winestaging; 
Apparently the patch that did the trick is
https://dev.wine-staging.com/patches/164/

The installer runs to completion for me with wine-staging 2.17 with on top of
that all the later msi patches from Zebediah Figura applied (also the one
attached to bug 34989).

So I guess this can be marked as fixed in Staging (?)

Last nitpick: despite of my limited knowledge of this stuff I think there are a
few minor mistakes in rsaenh.c file in the length of the algorithm names. Could
someone have a look at the patch that I attach hereafter, if i see that
correctly?
