I tested this in my environment on Wine 3.5 and still have the blackscreen on
launch issue.

The audio works though, I can hear the bird chirping (as is normal) when the
game launches and loads a save game. I did this with the d3dx9_43 override in
place. I can record my screen using OBS to show what this bug looks like on a
user's computer if it makes it a little bit easier to grasp what's going.

This is a regression by the way, since the old workaround doesn't seem to work
anymore.
