Can confirm. Wrote a AppDB report on Civilization V a few days ago in which
I've both tested Wine 3.0 and 3.6 The conclusion is that on currently stable
versions of wine, Civilization V is just trash. The test result is currently
pending before publication.

It works on wine 2.0, but with all downsides associated.

It's worth noting that this is not associated with Bug 37443. That bug occurs
when starting a game, not when starting the application.
