Compiling and checking now ... and the issues are still there.  I no longer see
all black in 2D view (as it was in at least wine 2.0.5).  But the drawing issue
is there and changing the window size makes lots of pretty colours and shapes.

It looks like this old software can still be downloaded from
https://www.ikea.com/ms/en_CN/rooms_ideas/splashplanners.html.  If needed, I
have kept my original installation file as well (for the off chance that
someone would like to use it for debugging).  To test, just install, run it,
and resize the main window.
