Have same problem. Even in the main menu game is extremely slow.
Default prefix with no modifications. 
Using Ubuntu 16.04(latest updates installed), Wine 3.13(installed from official
repo), using NVidia GeForce GTX 1080(drivers: nvidia-384
384.130-0ubuntu0.16.04.1). Game is running fullscreen in 1920x1200 resolution
