Sad to say this bug persists yet again preventing installation (of Smite:
Tactics, for e.g.). Hi-rez's installer is the most broken tool I've ever seen,
constantly losing track of its own registry on Windows too barring you
configured it just so - but I'm afraid that only means this one is a problem
for WINE to address. I've tried several 64 bit prefixes with tricks as above,
variably disabling mono and &c . My unprofessional conclusion is that the prog
is the ONLY example of some obscure procedure call that fell thru the cracks
over and over simply because nobody cared, but since HiRez is expanding its
catalogue it may be time to go through exactly what's going wrong here. I
greatly doubt a revised installer is in the works, either now or ever, at
HiRez.
