I've seen this issue with another application as well.

The issue appears to be cause by a  modal dialog that is loaded during a drag
and drop operation when the message comes from Xorg.

Basically.
Receive a Drag & Drop notify from Xorg
This message is relayed to the application.
The application loads a modal Dialog.
At this point, no more Messages are processed since we are still processing the
Drag and drop message.
At this point the application is locked up.
